Union Square North Pavilion

The Union Square North Plaza, a locus for commercial and recreational activity, is centrally sited in one of Manhattan’s most active neighborhoods. The Plaza restoration has significantly enhanced pedestrian use and engagement.

LERA was the structural engineer for the renovation of the existing, damaged Union Square North Pavilion and the addition of a one-wing structure with an area of approximately 1,000 sf (90 sm) at the Basement Level and 475 sf (44 sm) at the Ground Floor Level. The landscaped area to the south of the Pavilion was redesigned for recreational use, while the plaza north of the Pavilion, including the Greenmarket farmer’s space, was resurfaced.
