Surrey Hotel Renovation  

LERA led the structural design of a comprehensive renovation of this famous hotel, located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Structural modifications were made throughout the building for a complete upgrade to mechanical systems, including the reinforcement of roof framing and the design of new dunnage to support new heavy equipment and a new rooftop mechanical penthouse; the reinforcement of roof framing for a new rooftop garden area; the reinforcement of low roof framing for a new generator; and the reinforcement of regular hotel floor framing to support a new gym.
