LERA Presents at NASCC Steel Conference

LERA presented the structural design for the newly reimagined St. Pete Pier in St. Petersburg, Florida at the NASCC Steel Conference in Charlotte, NC. Boldly designed in steel in a seafront climate, the structure is rhythmic and enticing. Tourism in St. Petersburg has included over 400% since the revitalization of the pier which includes a new marketplace, whimsical artwork, restaurants and improved pedestrian access.

"The complete rebuild of the St. Pete Pier on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, FL, opened in July 2020 and set a jewel in the crown of the reborn downtown of St. Petersburg. The transformed Pier is a must-see attraction to visitors and locals alike. The gateway to the Pier is an outdoor market with local vendos offering goods and food to visitors. The angular steel-framed solar canopy under which the market kiosks are situated provides much needed shade from the Gulf Coast sunshine and an environmentally friendly power source, and it does so with style. "

LERA's Jason Stone presented on the unique steel design created with architects, Wannemacher Jensen Architects in collaboration with W Architecture & Landscape Architecture.

Jason was also able to attend the conference reception hosted in the Nascar Museum, also designed by LERA with architect Pei, Cobb Freed.

Another excellent steel conference in the books!
