Nordstrom Flagship Store

Nordstrom’s 320,000-sf (30,000-sm) flagship store, located near Columbus Circle in Manhattan, is situated at the base of the Central Park Tower, and extends into three adjacent existing buildings dating back to the 1920s. LERA was the structural engineer for this major renovation, which consists of a main glass tower with seven floors of retail space, a restaurant and a striking central atrium that maintains the “landmark façade” of what was once 1780 Broadway.

LERA’s designs included a complete façade replacement, a new elevator and a feature staircase. Occupied spaces remained in use while the store renovation work happened on multiple floors.
