LERA is the structural engineer for a new 14-floor, 34,200 sf (3,177-sm) life science building with options for full floors of intensive chemical and biological lab use including the potential for GMP and vivarium functions, lower level parking and ground floor retail/active space and amenities. Part of Phase I of Schuylkill Yards, a new large-scale, multi-building mixed-use development located directly adjacent to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, PA. The 14-acre development will create 6.9 million sf of office, lab, residential, retail, hotel and public green space. 

The site is complicated by its proximity to both the Schuylkill River and the railyards serving 30th Street Station, posing a major challenge to the design team.
